I wouldn't take my pets anywhere else!
I took one of my exotic pets there, when she developed osteomyelitis of a toe. She had a course of antibiotics, but ultimately, the toe had to be amputated. The staff was very kind, and are genuinely concerned and caring about their patients. They are readily available for information. The surgery was excellently done, and my pet recovered well.

Nice professional staff when we had a crisis
We had never had to take our small pet (hamster) to a vet until the time came that he needed to be euthanized. It was an agonizing decision for us and we really needed a professional, competent staff to help us through it. Everyone at Avian & Exotic Animal was compassionate and caring, and our little guy's end was peaceful and painless. All the other pets we saw while there seemed to be getting great, personalized care. I would highly recommend for any exotic or small animal owner.

Bad surgeries
When we lived close to this clinic, we had bad experiences with this clinic. Once a staple used for spaying came loose, causing an internal and finally fatal abdominal infection. When we had the animal go in for an exploratory surgery, the animal's abdomen was apparently smelling strongly (infection) and the animal was put down without our consent despite availablity per phone. Another animal received unauthorized surgery while a surgery-induced infection was treated (again without getting our consent via available phone conversation). The result was that the animal's penis couldn't be retracted anymore and continuous discomfort. A few weeks later, the animal died. We had real "bad luck" with opening of almost all surgical sites and found out that this happened because the subcutaneous tissue was never closed (neither glued nor stitched). The staples or stitches in the skin were simply never enough. We had to come back, sometimes repeatedly for one wound, to have "re-closed" and or cleaned resulting infections, and each time, we were charged for these services although the fault was with the surgeon/s. We spent a lot of money (service was expensive) and rarely received satisfactory results. We stopped seeing this clinic and were more successful treating our animals on our own. Now, we fortunately moved to another area and have access to an excellent veterinarian. I would not recommend this clinic if it has not changed a lot since we had our animals treated th

Excellant Service, Highly Recommend!
If you own an exotic animal, this is the place to go! The staff is so caring and nice and will answer all your questions. They showed me around the hospital on my first visit and allowed me to watch them pull blood from my bird. The doctor groomed my bird and it was the best grooming it has ever had! Very professional, very clean, very knowledgable. I would never take my birds anywhere but here! The prices are comparible to others around town, if fact, I find them to be a little lower than the other hospitals that treat exotics.

Friendly service for birds
Take my birds here for their care. Friendly service and they take good care of the birds but are rather expensive and the first time I went there they treated my bird without giving an estimate of the cost and when i recieved the bill i was really surprised of how expensive it was. They did help me with the bill since i wasnt given an estimate first.

Art of wing clipping
My bird gets his grooming at Avian. It has always been a quick and easy experience. I have taken him to other places, but I prefer Avian the best. They clip wings better than any other vet I've taken him to. They look so professional afterward. And he spreads them like he's a work of art when he's done.

Fantastic with All Your Pets
Over the years, we have taken various pets to the Avian and Exotic Animal Hospital: bird, rabbit, bearded dragon, red-eyed tree frog, and veiled chameleon. The vets were equally professional and knowledgeable in each of these situations, and they made us feel very comfortable with their care. Highly recommended for all non-boring pets.

Best Exotic Animal Hospital
Avian & Exotic Animal Hospital has a friendly and professional staff. They are proactive in helping your pet and always provide options and an understanding attitude. I would only trust the staff here with my small and exotic animals. The environment is comfortable, welcoming and clean. My animals never had any fear in visiting our vet, Dr. Jenkins or any of his staff.
