We went on a Friday night and the place was packed. We couldn't really find the front of the restaurant, so we wandered around and none of the servers stopped to ask if we needed help. Finally I got a server’s attention and asked where we sign in to be seated, and she replied "Just seat yourself". We scrambled around to find a table, and as groups left other groups dashed to take over the table. It was madness. Finally, we got seated outside on our own makeshift table lit by a green light strip that runs around the inner edge of the outer seating area. We had to use our cell phones and a BIC lighter to read the menu, and I couldn't enjoy the color of the food because it all looked green from the light. I ordered Scotch Eggs for an appetizer and the waitress asked if I wanted them hot or cold, I asked "Which way is better?" and she said "Hot", well I got them cold. I told the server that I ordered them hot and he throws it in the microwave, salad and all and nearly throws it on the table. I expected being at a restaurant that they were going to actually hard-boil an egg, wrap it in sausage, bread it and bake it. Instead I'm sure they opened a cardboard box labeled Scotch Eggs and threw it on a plate. I may go back on a weekday, but I doubt it.

I adore the Hillcrest/Mission Hills area. So it so nice for me to have found this place. A few years ago, I went with a group of people and really enjoyed the atmosphere, and the food was amazing.
Our waitress had a cute accent on top of everything else!
A few years later I took my husband and he loves it! Then we took his family, and they loved it!
I love the fish and chips. The fish has just the right amount of batter wrapped around the tasty white flaky fish inside. The chips are thick cut fries and seem more healthy that others!
AMAZING I love it there.
Don't forget to visit the little "tea house" and gifty area next door!

The interior of this cottage looks just like an English pub with wooden chairs and tables, plank floors and a bar in the center. Good fish and chips. If you don't want to try the bangers and mash or the ploughman's plate you can also order American pub favorites like a hamburger.

This little piece of england is charming and provides an overall fun experience. The eclectic menu of item i was not used to proved to be delicious fare for an english pub. The beer is plentiful and at a fair price. If you want to hang out and relax at a nice quiet place to drink this is it

Transport yourself to a little bit of England. This authentically duplicated pub has many English beers, ales and lagers. English food, shepherd's pie, fish and chips and much more. Friendly bar tender. A fun place at the weekend. Have a quiet pint during the week, except for Monday night football.

This is an interesting place to eat. In lower mission valley nice outside seating. Food is ok and prices are fair

I love the place. It is where I go when I need to get my hands on real English grub. Though I wish they had Cornish Pasties. But it is one of the few places where I can get Blackthorn on tap.

This is a mission hills favorite for the weekends. You can grab a pint and enjoy some delicious fish and chips. Parking is a bit tough but worth going.

I love Shakespeare's. Great food, especially like the English breakfast since it has a little bit of everything. Great selection of brews. The patio seating is the best. Great place to watch your futbol games. They also have a great little shop too.
