If you have money.. by Christine H. at InsiderPages
This is a nice place to take a date out on. The atmosphere is pleasant and calm. The food is amazing, but the price is what you pay for. The service is great, and everyone should come here at least once.

Fresh Food by Alisa H. at InsiderPages
This is probably THE best restaurant in San Diego! Great, fresh food, excellent service, gorgeous atmosphere. I spend every special occasion dinner here because I'm treated like royalty and the food is too die for! I recommend EVERYONE eat here at least once. A little pricey, but SO worth it!

We love Roppongi
You will want to avoid Roppongi on Fri and Sat night or you will wait a very long time. Try going during happy hour or for lunch on the weekend. The sushi is very fresh and all the appetizers are big enough for a meal. Take enough friends so you can share a few different tapas items. The crab stack salad is awesome. Also - try the onion rings and bbq mini lamb chops.

Wonderful Tapas by Lauren M. at InsiderPages
This is one of our fav spots for tapas. If you go during happy hour they're half price. Try the dungeness crab stack or the mini duck tacos.
It's more expensive and crowded at night.

Asian Fusion - translation Yum!
I have dinned here three times and each time I enjoyed my experience. Cost of dinner is fair for the La Jolla. The lunch menu is more reasonable than dinner. Roppongi offers both indoor and outdoor seating. The hot rock appitizer is interesting and a must do if you are with a large group. Next to a great cafe.

Great Food, Quaity Service and a Nice Atmosphere
I used to frequent this place often several years ago. Then I moved to LA. Just went back for the weekend and I must say I am still very impressed. The food is great. There's a good selection of Sake and the decor is very modern. I highly recommend!

Better Japanese food out there!!
I recently traveled to San Diego area and was initially very excited to try this place out from the other reviews I read online. Sadly it was a disappointment. The table that a friend and I were seated at was dirty, and not cleaned off. It took a while before we were greeted. Waiter was later welcoming, but not very attentive or informative. I had the combo mahi mahi and halibut, my friend had the closest thing they had to Udon. Food was served hot; a nice balance of flavor, presentation was artsy, reasonable portions. However is you are looking for TRADITIONAL Japanese cuisine (and I have had more than my share of Japanese food), then this is not the place for you. I know there are other more reasonably priced Japanese restaurants that will be more satisfying. Some of the guests were pretentious, and loud. There were a few spoiled and obnoxious little rich kids who were all over the place. These are not exactly qualities that are conducive to relaxing dinner out. Decor and ambiance were impressive, but I guess looks don't make for a great restaurant! Who knows someone else may think of this place as great find, but for me, this is not worth a second visit.
