Lorna's Kitchen is a hidden gem in the University City area. Tucked away in a small neighborhood strip mall, you would never think "great Italian food". However, Lorna's is a total surprise with some great Italian food that rivals anything in Little Italy.

My husband likes the pizza here, but I thought it was too soggy. The Gnocchi and chicken dishes are great. Nice place for a family meal or takeout. good value

Great Italian food and service. Ask for Ferni, he's worked there for over 20 years. The pasta is made fresh daily and they have daily specials that are always good! We eat there at least once or twice a month! We have never had a bad meal and always get treated good! They also offer take-out, but be sure to call first, all orders are made fresh I love this food!!!!

I suggest (when having Lornas) to go to the actual restaurant. It is much better than the group orders I am used to! But Lornas is a great, kosher, family owned business! Its food to grow up on.

A real find. Great selection of pastas, the best Caesar salad I've ever had, awesome desserts, great pizza and meats. Small intimate (crowded) and casual atmosphere. Prices very reasonable.

Every bite you take is another you will take on a promised return to this great restaurant! They have a vast selection to choose from and as a veteran goer, you won't disappointed in anything you decide on. My personal recommendation is Joy's Torteloni with the Garlic Cream sauce. That'll make you close your eyes and savor the taste. They're quick with the service and quaint with the decorations.

Wonderful, giant portions-- Lorna's has a wonderful atmosphere and decor. The staff is welcoming and the portions are really big. I ordered the chicken cacciatore and could not even finish HALF! The food tasted fresh and was an unexpected surprise. Lorna's is not located in a fancy schmancy area, rather on the corner of Governor and Genessee with a Vons, Rite-Aid and Baskin-Robbins nearby. Great for the family who is looking for a deal or the poor college student who needs something hearty and healthy.

This casual Italian bistro is an unexpected gem in a strip mall shared by a Vons and a Rite Aid. I stopped by for lunch while waiting for a smog check at the station next door and discovered the best gnocchi I've ever had in San Diego. On subsequent visits I've had delicious garlic bread, great spaghetti, and spicy sausages. Lorna's is highly recommended and delicious traditional Italian food.
