Jake's Del Mar

I totally enjoyed the food and the service offered at Jake's. I went for my birthday dinner and was just spoiled by the service and care given by the staff. I will definently be back for more.

Jake's is a classic. The food is always pretty good and they have some great drinks. The killer reason for going here is the view; just gorgeous!

We went to Jake's to celebrate an anniversary (recommendation from a friend) and were very happy! View and food were both excellent and our waiter was great! I can't wait to go back and I highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to celebrate something special. I recommend the crab cakes!

By far this is one of the most romantic dining place in Del Mar. My boyfriend and I had dinner there one night, and the atmosphere is priceless. The food is a bit pricey, but the view is beautiful. You dine right on the beach, so after dinner, you can take a stroll down beach within a few steps. The servers are sweet and helpful. I love their wakaki mai tais. To top everything off, they have valet parking as well.with is fairly inexpensive.

Jake's has it all. Great food, great ocean view, sunsets, ambiance.
What more can I say. You have to try Jake's if you have never been. An experience you will never forget.

Jake's is the place to celbrate a birthday, an anniversary, etc.
Great food, excellent service, stunning views.
Just a bit overpriced compared to Poseidon next door.
Must try to mai tai's - I haven't found one this good outside of Hawaii.
And for the sweet tooth, the desert menu is tops.

My husband and I are L.A. locals and came to Del Mar or the week end. We wanted to eat close to our hotel and stumbled on to Jakes, resistant to eat at a chain ( though we have eaten at their Dukes in malibu, Hula Grill and Leilanis in Hawaii ) we did any way and went in and ate dinner. The view was amazeing!
The food was good, scallops were great, seafood cocktail fresh and delicious, the rolls, dangerously delicious.
What stood out to us was the amazeing customer service, the friendly host and wait staff, the manager who would stop by and GENUINELY ask how we liked our food and even pour our water !!!! The big smiles on everyones faces and the 500 goodbyes as we left the building.
Great staff !

I always end up sitting at the bar here for a while before dinner and don't mind it. Food is high quality, nothing too unusual.

Jake's location certainly impressed me the first time we visited. The seafood is not world class, but it is good, and being right on the ocean makes for a beautiful night.

I've been going to Jake's for 15 years and it is the perfect place to take out of town guests. You are literally RIGHT there on the water. The service is always top-notch and the food is, for the most part, consistently good. If it doesn't meet your expectations, they do everything they can to fix it. Try to make reservations for peak time periods (especially during the fair and the horse races).
