India Princess

We enjoy the lunch buffet at this restaurant. The tandori chicken is great and the garlic naan is delicious. Not sure of all the names of things but the chicken w/ tomato/cream sauce is great and so is the spinach.

This is one of our favorite places. Have not been there for lunch, but dinner has always been great.
Rarely do we have to wait, never required reservations. I guess some people just don't like Indian food thus they avoid it.
Would like to see more go so that the patrons can make a $ and I can keep eating there.

Conveniently located on Restaurant Row, its very easy to find. Great food and great service! Lamb is great and so is the Chicken Vindaloo with some sort of spicy sauce, I would go again!

"Balti-style" lamb (the meat is stewed in onion gravy until it shreds, then is served in a cone-shape holder), India Princess offers a menu with many well-prepared specialties. A long, narrow front room leads to the much more comfortable back room, a rather intimate cave perfumed by spicy scents, and enlivened by explosive sizzling sounds when red-hot metal platters of meats cooked in a traditional tandoor oven arrive from the kitchen. Dishes to try include the succulent lamb dumplings called nargisi kofta, sautéed shrimp jalfarezee, and the kadai chicken (cooked in a round-bottom pan like a wok). The mint paratha bread is fragrant and excellent.

Love this resturant. They have a great buffett and it is only $10. The food is delicious, and the atmosphere is fun. I highly recommend this resturant to anyone who loves good Indian food.

The food was good. My husband and I are glad there is a good Indian restaurant in San Marcos. I recommend the curry.

I went here for dinner and really enjoyed myself. The food and service at this restaurant were excellent and the atmosphere was very nice. My only problem with it was that, for standard Indian food affair, it was a little pricey: about $12 per veggie entree. The mango lassis were ridiculous at $4. It's clear that this restaurant has a monopoly on Indian food in this area, which is probably how they survive with their prices so high. If I weren't on such a tight budget, I would eat there more often. They also have a lunch buffet.

Great service and excellent food. The prices are reasonable too. The atmosphere is relaxing. A great place to go out to eat!

I used to go to this place all of the time with my girlfriend. In fact, we went there so much they often gave us a 10% off discount. That was very nice of them! Their chicken tikka masala is to die for, as are many of their other dishes. The dinner for two is a great deal as well. They give you chicken tandoori and these chicken nugget-type appetizers, as well as garlic naan, another lamb dish, rice and two dishes of your choice all for $40. It was an excellent deal IMO and I can't wait to go back. It's a very nice place and the tables are nice and quiet.

PROS: Great deals, great prices, great food!
CONS: Can't think of any!
