We ordered (from the not-very-friendly owner) stuffed cabbage, (so sweet it was inedible), chicken soup (average), knockwurst ruben, (hard bread, otherwise average), chili cheeseburger, (not hot, otherwise average), and chocolate chocolate cake (bland--and rarely do I meet a chocolate cake I wouldn't order again!) Not horrible, but definitely nothing worth returning for.

Good. by Amanda P. at InsiderPages
The food was pretty good. Not the best, but I only had a burger for a meal. I would go again to try something new, and it's a very nice restaurant. The pies were delicious!

Great food.
Took me a minute to find what I was looking for, but the food ended being great. This little place in Hillcrest is worth the trip from La Jolla any day. I have been there for lunch a few times now with my co-workers. We all love it.

City Deli
Great Breakfast menu and bakery! Never really an hour wait for food on the weekends which is a nice switch for Hillcrest

The deli is ok by Pamela H. at InsiderPages
I thought the City Deli was ok. I think there are other deli's in San Diego that are far superior. The food is overpriced for the amout that you receive and the taste is average. It has good atmosphere but the food isn't to die for.

Awesome!
this place is never overcrowded, the service is always good, and the food is consistently good, whether you get breakfast, lunch or dinner. Their desserts are particularly delectable.

Great
The service here is always really good, and the food is pretty tasty, too! I would avoid all dishes with smoked salmon, but other than that, everything I've had is really tasty! The kuegel is especially good.

mmmmm
We absolutely love this place the food is good and there are some really fun items that you can't find in other places in san diego kuegel, baked apples, matza soup, etc and there are buckets of pickles on each table! They also serve breakfast all day, which is a plus. The staff is funny and friendly. The only bad thing i can say is that their lox is insanely salty, so beware if you aren't a salt fiend.

Kosher
This is a Jewish own dinner that offers late night dining till 2 am. It's got a variety of American food as well as Kosher items. Their carrot cake is delicious and moist. Must try!
