Cafe Japengo

Japengos has a great sushi bar, cocktail bar and a number of seating areas. They have a buzzing nightlife in the bar, a crowded sushi bar at lunch and dinner is always booked. The food is very good, although its in La Jolla so its a bit pricey.

I liked this place. It was good but the not the best that I have had in San Diego. I really did like this place and will go back and I recommend that you try it out but when you have your favorite spot it is hard to try something new.

The sushi here is really good and you have to try some of their specialty rolls. They have some really interesting and unique ones!

Cafe Japengo has really great sushi. My favorite is the crunchy roll. They have great drinks, too. I have never ordered off the main menu because I have always been too happy with the sushi.

Cafe Japengo has good sushi as well as other Asian dishes. The atmosphere is very nice and it is dimly lit. It is an elegant place to go for a nice dinner.

I love this place for their food. Excellent sushi rolls worth the price. Except, I start to rethink that when the greeter is rude, the waiter is clueless or unresponsive and when I look around especially near the bar and see the schmucks that work in the area schmoozing I almost want to gag, which in turn would make that good sushi quite disgusting.

This restaurant has been very good for many years, you can always get the freshest food, beautiful presentation and good service here. It can get super crowded on weekend nights, so definitely make a reservation.

This is the happening place for happy hour. The mixed drinks are great and the specials are generous. The sushi is fresh and tastyyou can tell their ingredients are fresh and safe. I also recommend the 20 ingredient Fried Rice. Tasty treat.

I went to Cafe Japengo for a birthday celebration and let me tell you, this place is upscale and finely decorated. I order Pizza rolls, if available, at any sushi restaurant I visit. Hands down Cafe Japengo has the best Pizza roll! I also ordered a Fifty-Fifty roll which was also very tasty! This roll has many things going, highly recommended!
Service was prompt and the atmosphere was good! Highly recommended for special occassions.
