Come here to eat fabulous greek style food, such as moussaka (eggplant dish), kotopoulo (chicken), or dolmas (stuffed grape leaves). My favorite dish is the grape leaves which are stuffed with a tasty mix of rice and meat and served with a lemon sauce. Try a little bit of everything and order the Athen's Market Special.

I saw another review on here but I think the writer has Athens confused with another place. Athens Market is a Greek Restaurant located in the bottom corner of the Paladian Mall building on the corner of F and 1st, across from Horton Plaza. I've been eating here at least once a week (usually more) for the last 8 years. Trust me when I say you probably won't find better food or service in a Greek restaurant any where in SD. The fakee (lentil soup) is awesome though they have a waiter that insists on telling everytime I order it that they get it a Costco. Stop by and try it for youself you won't be disappointed.

We went there for a team lunch today, our entire workforce of 11 people. Our service was top notch, on the ball. Our glasses were never empty, our food was hot and done the way we ordered, it came out almost all together (11 people, that's kind of difficult to do), and almost everything was tasty. Everyone enjoyed their food, except the vegetarians. (My dish was vegetarian, but was awesome anyway.) And anyway, doesn't Greek food revolve around meat?

The average plate was about $11-13, so I think it was good for the money. That was hours ago, and I'm still super full, so that definitely counts towards a great value.

It's a great place to get in and out and it is next to the tracks. Coffee is fresh even if it is not that good or expensive. They have a lot of papers.

This is upscale Greek at its best in San Diego. If you are looking for a special occasion Greek restaurant then you should come here! All quality food and ambiance without the cheesiness you might find elsewhere.

Athen's Market Taverna is a great restaurant to go after a long day. They have a wonderful selection of entrees on their menu. They also have great specials on certain dishes. The waitress was very friendly and accomodating. I would definitely go again.

Any place that sets cheese on fire is OK by me! Great food and great food. One of downtowns sleeping gems.

Athens Market serves REAL Greek food. It's the best I've had in the US. I enjoy the atmosphere, the food and being able to watch the crowd go by.
The prices are reasonable, and the service is fantastic.
