Fantastic Home Daycare
Miss Mary Lou’s daycare has been wonderful for my family, as it has allowed my husband and me to work with complete peace of mind, knowing that our son is not only safe, but also nurtured and loved. I only wish we had found her sooner. We have lived in different places in the US, and I researched many options in all three cities (Philadelphia, Berkeley and San Diego) including child care centers, family daycares, and nannies, and never felt as comfortable as I did, from day one, with Mary Lou. Mary Lou has a great environment where children can grow safely and feel at home. It is fantastic that every day the same children are there so my son got used to them easily. We are a bilingual family, and speak only Spanish at home. Our son, nonetheless, has learnt to communicate in English (most of his speech is in English), and understands absolutely all commands given to him in both languages. I am also very picky about what my son eats. I don’t give him sugar, juice, or canned fruit. I try as much as possible to feed him healthy meals and snacks, and I didn’t have to explain much about this to Mary Lou, as it is what she does with every child. She makes breakfast and lunch for them, and all snacks include fresh fruits. I think having Mary Lou to care for our son has been one of the greatest discoveries in San Diego, and I certainly plan to send our second one there too!

Fantastic Day Care
We were stressed about putting our 2 month old baby into a daycare. I found Mary Lou's Daycare before he was born but unfortunately she didn't have an opening for an infant. So we went through the process of interviewing many nannies and daycares; none we felt absolutely comfortable with. Luckily for us, an opening came available at Mary Lou's just in time! We feel so comfortable leaving our son with Mary Lou - she is such a loving and nurturing person and it's obvious this is what she was meant to do. It's apparent in the way she interacts with the kids and more importantly the way the kids interact with her! The environment is warm and feels like home and with Mary Lou there is always lots of laughter and fun for the kids. She's an outstanding person and someone who we are happy to have our baby spend time with.

The best daycare in town!
This is the daycare you always wanted for your kid! Safe and beautiful home setting with lots of books and fun & educational toys; Home made nutritious meals; Small group of great kids and lots of love from Miss Mary Lou! My son adores her! I wish I knew about this place when my son was born! I wasted a lot of my time and nerves (not to mention the money) on an expensive corporate run daycare where my son got injured on regular bases. After this experience, my vote of trust goes to this small, honestly run business. Thank you so much Mis Mary Lou!

Top Quality Home Day Care
Miss Mary Lou's Childcare is wonderful for my son -- he truly blossomed with Mary Lou. He began in her care with some minor delays in a few areas, and not only made great strides with Mary Lou, but has actually caught up with his peers! Mary Lou's care is very balanced. She is incredibly nurturing and fun, while also providing a stimulating environment where the kids can really explore, learn and grow. My son not only began walking under her care, but he also increased his vocabulary dramatically in just a few months -- we stopped counting after 100 words! Unlike many home-based day cares, Miss Mary Lou's home has a very large area dedicated to the children, consisting of various "stations" of toys, manipulatives, music, etc. This was definitely a find for us, and we highly recommend Mary Lou to any family looking for childcare.

Warm and Fuzzy Quality Service
I highly recommend Miss Mary Lou’s care. As a single mother, working full time as a teacher I require a dependable service to care for my 3-year-old son. Before Mary Lou, he attended more of a preschool setting. I was concerned about the monitoring/handling of aggressive behaviors displayed classmates, also the developmental appropriateness of activities implemented. My son had been hit and bit on occasion and had difficulty dealing with his frustration level with uncooperative toys. I decided to return to an intimate setting where social skills and independent problem solving could be better fostered. After a year with Mary Lou I’m very pleased with the outcome. He’s adopted wonderful manners, patience, and solves problems with much less frustration than previously. He’s aware of children’s needs and plays well with children of all ages. He loves to read, sing, dance, knows his alphabet, can count to 20, not to mention to 10 in Spanish! Mary Lou has a wonderful, upbeat personality that is reflected in my son’s attitude when I pick him up each day. She provides healthy meals, a warm, engaging environment, is flexible and accommodating and conscientious about providing suitable toys/activities for children. I’m especially grateful for the worldliness she’s nurtures in my son, making it a point to address his specific interests. What other 3-year-old desires to travel to the Eiffel Tower? Thank goodness for Miss Mary Lou. There’s no other.

Miss Mary Lou's Childcare is Wonderful!!
I couldn't be more pleased or more comfortable with Miss Lou's Childcare! Miss Mary Lou is a true professional and my daughter loves her. My daughter's social and language skills have blossomed since she started there and I regularly see the results of the stimulation she gets throughout her days. She eats healthy meals and snacks (included in the price) and is still able to take her daily nap. The location is fun, clean, convenient and safe and the small friendly group is great!!

Excellent childcare
Our son started at Mary Lou’s daycare when he was 4 1/2 months old (he recently celebrated his first birthday) and we have been very happy with the care he has received there. As first-time parents, we were nervous about leaving our baby at a daycare but were quickly comforted by observing how happy our son seemed there. The environment at the daycare is nurturing, stimulating and secure. As working professionals (physician and research scientist) we have found the hours of operation have been able to accommodate our busy work schedules. Overall we have been extremely happy and would highly recommend this daycare to other parents.

Fantastic Childcare!
My 3 year old has been attending Miss Mary Lou's for the last several months and he absolutely loves it!! She has provided him with excellent care and I honestly couldn't be happier!! It is a small home setting, bright and clean, with a good amount of educational toys and tons of books plus a great "toddler sized" back yard for the children to play. Mary Lou possesses all the qualities that I looked for in a person who would be spending time with my child; she is warm, caring, and outgoing, with a positive outlook and is active and engaged with the children all day. She has also taken a variety of child development classes and completely certified. I know that when my son is at Miss Mary Lou's he is well cared for and having a blast! I feel so lucky to have found such a wonderful daycare and wanted to let all the parents and caregivers looking for daycare that Miss Mary Lou's has an opening.

Best in home daycare in San Diego!
When I decided to return to work as a school counselor after being at home with my child for 2.5 years, I wanted to find a small, child –centered home daycare where I would be 100% confident that my daughter would be cared for with warmth and love. My daughter suffers from celiac disease (an intolerance to gluten), so I also had to find someone willing to work with her dietary restrictions. I interviewed many providers before ultimately decided on Miss Mary Lou’s Childcare. Miss Mary Lou gives my daughter the kind of attention and nurturing care that makes me completely confident in leaving my child with her. It is obvious my daughter adores Mary Lou. She is patient, kind, understanding, and loving. My kid smiles upon arrival, racing towards the door when I drop her off. I have to pry her away pouting when I pick her up. This, to me, speaks volumes about the atmosphere Miss Mary Lou provides for her charges. She’s been doing childcare for 20+ years now and still loves every child as if they were her own. She took the time and energy to learn about my daughter's gluten-free diet. I know it’s not easy dealing with an active pre-schooler who doesn’t always understand why she can’t eat cupcakes and pasta, but Miss Mary Lou never batted an eye. I will never be able thank her enough for everything she has done and continues to do. I highly recommend Miss Mary Lou’s Childcare to any parent looking for an exemplary home daycare for their child.
