Cajun/Creole and Southern Style Cooking - Really Good but apparently they didn't have enough business and they are now closed.

This place has good food, is focused on Customer Service, and does not over charge you like some other places do. I go here a lot and am always full and happy when I leave.

Being a lover of Cajun/Creole Cuisine which we hadn't had any since Sherman's Buffet closed. We noticed this place and decided to try it, We were extremly disappointed. I ordered Jambalya and my wife had the Pork Chop dinner.
My Jambalya was Hot in spots luke warm in others leading to it was pre made and nuked before serving. Wife said the Pork Chop was very fatty and tough. The sides were decent but not great. Considering the quality of the food vs the price of entrees. ($13-$14)Sorry, we won't go back again.

Great food. Great idea. Where else can we hang out in San Diego? Need to find more places that are like this.

I've been to this cafe several times. The gumbo is very good. The last time that I went there, I had the oysters. They appeared to be frozen then defrosted. Very bad.

Ok people!! Yall are trippin, this spot is da bomb, the problem is that yall aint use to soulfood. La Mesa/Fletcher Hills is not exactly full of hood rats..especially when there is a Souplantation next door full of Valley Gurl, Paris Hilton, salad eatin types.
Try the the fried chicken is great and plentiful; smothered pork chops were great ad the collard greens perfectly cooked.

Our family moved here Summer 07 from New Orleans and were expecting a lot more from this restaurant. Portions were very small for the price. Didn't use real 'french bread' for the poboys and very few shrimp. Still looking for good southern food in San Diego.

Well can't tell you if I like this place or not. I am not sure if their business is doing well because, each time (twice) I have gone there it has been CLOSED! Let me clarify even though we have been there before the posted closing hours on the door and outside bannner (which are different, by the way) IT IS STILL CLOSED! My husband and I even called in the parking lot on the second occassion and the person that answered the phone "bascially" stated that it was up to the manager's discretion as to when the store closed. I really wanted to try this place out but, is the effort really worth it! Not on my list of places with great service and the food well, obviously, I don't know and I am not willing to try it at this point.
