Thrilled to have found them
We are so happy to have found Air plus heating and cooling. Kim and Jim, the owners are the best. They are not only thorough and knowledgeable but they were also just great people. They showed up on time for the estimate and the job, the workmen were all nice, professional and did great work. And they even really cleaned up after themselves. I totally recommend them and wouldn't use anyone else for my heating and cooling needs

So Happy
Dear Jim and Kim, We LOVE our new Trane system with the Clean Effects. For the first time since buying our home in 1993 we have air 100% in the master bedroom, family room, and dining room. Replacing all the ductwork was worth every dime. Jim, Dan and Mike did an awesome job installing the system and ductwork. I watched the whole process. Jim was so through he took 1 hour crawling through our nonexistent attic to diagnose what needed to be done, before we even signed the contract. I know we will enjoy this system for the next 30 years!!! Trane is the industry leader, and once you really start researching the different products and go look at them you will see why. The CleanEffects is amazing. The air feels great. The temperature is even all over the house. No more hot spots cold spots. The fan runs all the time and you do not hear it even in the garage where it is located. We could not be more pleased with the whole process. We highly recommend Air Plus. Amy in Tierrasanta

Quality Service and Work Product
Superb company! I have a 3850 sqft home in Del Mar that had heating but no A/C. Using Kudzu I called only companies with 2 or more reviews and a decent ratio of positive ones. AirPlus was one of 4 companies I called. All the companies were knowledgeable and answered my questions very thoroughly. However, Jim the President of AirPlus went an extra step. He talked about creating custom attachments for the 'Return' ports and the 'Plenum'. The purpose? To allow more air volume to pass through the system making it quieter and more efficient. Jim was the last quote, so by then I could see the technology between brands was similar and any additional value or efficiency wasn't going to be produced by choosing a different brand, "downsizing" the model or any other tweaking. Improving the ducting was a sensible, cost effective way to significantly improve the efficiency of the entire system. Additionally, it was a rush job on short notice, but they made me a priority, juggled their schedule, and had 3 guys do the work in one day! I'm a handy, mechanical person. From my lay perspective I could see from the process and the finished product the work was thorough, high quality and based in sound, common sense engineering. We are extremely happy. The A/C is quiet and powerful. A 10 degree temperature change takes minutes not an hour. We did pay 20% more than the next quote but it was worth every penny. Air Plus is the best contracting experience I have ever had.

A/C Install
I had been looking for a heating/AC system for a year before I found Air Plus. They offered the Trane system (which I had previous experience with and knew was an excellent product) at the lowest price. They came and installed the system in one day, which was very impressive. I ran the new unit for a few days after it was installed and it ran perfectly. Highly recommend Air Plus.

Excellent Service
With the recent heat spell we experienced, our A/C system did not work when we fired it up. We called Air Plus as recommended by our neighbor. Their customer service was outstanding from start to finish. The tech. was prompt, courteous, very thorough and knowledgeable. He was able to get our system up and running, and gave us options for future upgrades. He even checked our ductwork for efficiency. Their rates were very reasonable and we also received a follow-up phone call. We will definitely use their services in the future. A class act!

Not Recommended
Wife & I recently moved here & bought a 5 yr old house. Home inspector said guest heating system (hot water based) not working & A/C slow to cool. Called this company based on reviews. Asked them to evaluate both home systems & make needed repairs. They set up a "service call" appt ($160). Tech came; serviced main house unit & a/c part of guest unit. He assessed heating part of unit & said heat working. He didn't even put the ceiling cover back on unit when he left. We had to. After visit, over next few days, turned on unit 3x for 30 min time periods,no heat-just cool air. Called them & reported it still not working, pls return & fix. Was told same tech would come out & assess it for an additional fee. Told them they did not do job right 1st time (why the new fee?). I also wanted a different tech (2nd opinion). Was told no. At recommendation of neighbor, called his service. While setting up appt, tech asked had lines been cleared of air pockets. Told him, don't know. He came very promptly, & within 30 minutes, cleared 3 air pockets from line & it now works great! Charge $75. Will use him again in a heart beat. Regardless of AirPlus' response to this review, they did not do their job the first time, seemed more concerned they may have broken something, & where inflexible about returning to do the right thing. Glad I got a 2nd opinion, elsewhere. I do not recommend them.

Customer called for a furnace and air conditioning maintenance ($160.00), not a service call, which is always confirmed with customer before we arrive. Technician performed complete system maintenance and start-up, system was fully operational. Customer later called and reported system not working. I personally returned his call and let him know that we would be happy to come out and diagnose the problem, and if it had anything to do with our maintenance work, we would be happy to take care of it at no cost. Otherwise, we charge a $79 trip and diagnostic fee, if it was an existing problem unrelated to our work. He told me that he would speak with his wife and get back with us as to when we could schedule the appointment. -J. Crawford, President

Air Plus & Trane....2 Thumbs UP!!
Although there are many choices out there as far as dealers and brands are concerned, my wife and I are extremely happy we chose Air Plus to install our Trane equipment. After getting three estimates, we were most impressed with their professional presentation and reference check. The installation went smoothly, the installers were prompt, courteous, clean and experts in their field. They took extra time at the end of the job to educate us on our new equipment and thermostat operation. We live near the coast, and were hesitant to install air conditioning after 20+ years of getting by without it. We learned that with Trane's XL16i 2 Stage cooling, that we could effectively dehumidify and operate at 70% capacity on most days so as not to impact our energy bill too severely. We also decided to purchase the XV80i furnace with CleanEffects. We were evacuated from our home during the fires of 10/07. We keep the furnace fan on so the air filtration runs 24/7. We are pleased to say that when we returned, the air in our house was crystal clean and no signs of smoke or ash, unlike our neighbors. The CleanEffects system is truly remarkable. There is also a big difference in our new furnace- quieter, heats more evenly in our 2 story house, and not as draining on our energy bill. If you are considering a new system, and looking for a contractor you can trust and equipment you will love....we highly recommend Air Plus. -Dennis & Rosemary W. Del Mar, CA

We are so pleased with our new Trane heating and air conditioning system! The system is efficient, extremely quiet, and easy to operate. Besides being impressed with your knowledge, professionalism and meticulous attention to detail, we were amazed at how readily you worked around the unique layout of our yard, finding just the right location for the air conditioning unit. Your employees were courteous, experienced and diligent- in short, we felt like we were in very good hands. Your follow-up after the job, checking to see that everything was functioning well made us feel we could contact you at any time with any concerns or problems. All in all, a job well done, and we would have no hesitation referring others to Air Plus!

Delivers What is Promised
The temperature control and cleanliness in our home has never been better. The Trane heating, cooling and filtration system has been operating flawlessly and with a surprising "intelligence" that seamlessly transitions the household temperature between the various pre-determined set points. The sales, engineering, and installation staff at Air Plus did an absolutely outstanding job sizing and installing our replacement 2 stage heating, cooling and ventilation system. In a home with 4 cats, 1 dog, and the recent smoke and ash impacts of the 2007 fire storm in Poway, the Clean Effects air filtration system and recirculation feature, is keeping the air in our home fresh, clean and comfortable I am a professional engineer with over 27 years in program, project, construction management and environmental service lines. My experience with the Air Plus team places your firm in the top 2% of firms I have had the pleasure to engage in business and service.
