they don't make their own relish. they don't bring in their food from chicago. their portions got smaller. their prices got higher. the owners are rude.

this used to be the best hot dog place in San Diego. Now it's the worst. the new owners are rude and arrogant. the food has gone WAY down in quality and quantity and the prices have gone WAY up. this place stinks

Eat like a man and grab a classic Chicago Dog with the works. They make their own relish and it's greener than green! You have a choice to order chips for your side which are homemade with fresh potatoes. YUMMY!! They have a nice selection if you're not in the mood for a hotdog.

That's the saying right? Well it definitely applies to this small restaurant in the UTC area. It's got indoor seating for about 25 people and some outdoor seating which is always nice. They have a tv usually with the usual sports going on. The food though, that's what you come for. With original Chicago style hot dogs, Italian sausages/beef, and other dishes it's a great meal. You can get a deluxe meal that includes chips (or fries) and a fountain drink too (beer is sold separately). I'd recommend trying their regular hot dog with chili, which costs an extra fifty cents (along with cheese). That's a great starter, or try their sandwiches which are also very tasty. The prices are pretty good as you get the quality you pay for. Overall it's a great place to eat lunch or dinner, enjoy

I love this place! Vienna hot dogs grilled or boiled, dripping Italian beef sandwiches on a Gonnella roll! This is authentic Chicago style food in sunny San Diego. A must visit!

Although the restaurant is small, it packs a lot of flavor and atmosphere. They offer a wide selection of hot dogs, brats, hamburgers, etc. along with numerous sides. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to friends for a quick bite.

Best dogs in San Diego that I've had so far. Good stop for lunch, but dangerous depending on what you eat- white shirts are magnets for chili from your chili cheese dog. A little on the expensive considering the food, but it is very good.

For those of you from Illinois you know that a good hot dog and Italian Beef are hard to come by out here. This place is pretty good and now takes cards (used to be cash only). They have the right bread, right peppers- very good! I recommend them! They have also sold me the peppers, buns, and Italian Beef so I could make it at home! A little on the pricey side but most things in San Diego are.

The owners are Chicagoans and have brought these famous hot dogs to the San Diego area, along with Italian beef, ribs, homemade fries and chips (which are incredibly addictive). There are also many other menu items to choose from. Great service too! I can assure anyone who eats there, that this will become one of your favorite spots.
