Cosmos Cafe

The food, coffee, and tea are good, but not really great. The atmosphere is really unique. I like to go because it is so different, and along with the menu it is very enjoyable.

Cosmos is a friendly place to get a great cup of coffee and a quick meal. We loved the atmosphere and it is fun to sit outside.

Cosmos is a fun chill little place to grab a yummy cup of coffee and a good snack or full on meal. Their bagel sandwiches are pretty good. They have cool art, no attitudes, open mic nights, games at the couches to play, and a nice outside area to enjoy your coffee at. Nice place to enjoy the view of La Mesa Blvd.

My husband and I try to get to Cosmos every weekend because of the atmosphere, coffee, and food. Their salads are awesome! It has a great feeling of community since you often see the same people there. We have always been happy with the staff and service and tell everyone we know about it.

I walked into this place with pretty high expectations given the atmosphere is really hip and exciting. The coffee experience is great and they offer free internet connection (or someone nearby does?) but when I brought my kids the food didn't live up to our expectations. While it's not terrible, it's lack-luster to mediocre. The service on one visit was pretty good, they were prompt and friendy. However, my second visit I felt like my familiy and I weren't the priority. When someone is taking your order and your money, you kinda want them to have their attention on you. I don't believe this person said anything to me after Hello. Hopefully, they've improved in this area since thenit's summer now and I'd be interested in trying again.

Food and drinks are mediocre to average with some high points (smoothies and tea). Atmospher is much better than food. Try somewhere else for better coffee and food.

They serve Cafe Moto some of San Diego's better coffee. However, the roasting leaves something to be desired.

Cosmo's Cafe is a good restaurant to go to when you want to have a quick meal. Everyday low prices. Good selection of combination platters on their menu. The service we had was fast, the waitress was exceptionally friendly and accomodating.

I really want to like this cafe. It has a great atmosphere; wooden floors, comfy chairs, great organic coffee and delicious pastries. I have been to the cafe a few times, and especially enjoy the live mic night on Tuesday nights; that I would highly recommend as they showcase local talent. My problem is with the staff- one staff member in particular, that has been so rude to me twice now that unfortunately I am unable to return.(and I am pretty easy going when it comes to customer service issues- I tend to be easily pleased in general!) It is a shame as it is local to me, and was becoming a favourite. I would have easily given it five stars if not for this experience.

PROS: atmospheric, great delicious coffee
CONS: the staff need better training on customer service
