Awesome food
Different dishes than you'd find normally like tuna tempura eggplant and kobe beef papaya. Spectacular flavors. Service was good (a little slow but they were busy)

Best Asian downtown- no comparison
The ambiance was really nice, the staff friendly. My drinks was always topped immediately. I had Panang Char Kuey Teow and Satay. Char Kuey Teow was really good but the satay was out of this world. I'm telling everyone about this place.

Fun times - but just OK food
I've been here twice. The first time was with 15 girlfriends for a birthday party. I remembered the food to be very filling & pretty good, but most importantly, it was so much fun! I made reservations to return with my fiance the following month.

Since it was just the two of us, I was able to focus more on the food, which was overall, just average. Their shrimp "fried" rice was soggy! At least the shrimp was tasty. Their shaking kobe beef was actually very good. My fiance and I also enjoyed the Korean BBQ.

I wouldn't go back here with just the 2 of us though. It is great for a large group, especially since it is a very decently priced family style restaurant!

Trendy Fusion
This is another Asian fusion restaurant in San Diego. It's has really good mix drink but the food is only okay. The best dish is the kobe beef but everything else is average.

Cuisine by Shannon R. at InsiderPages
This is a great place to eat at if you are in downtown San Diego. They feature Southeast Asian Cuisine. The inside is very hip and chill. It is well priced too.

Asian fusion.
The drinks there are quite good especially the mojitos and the jade mistress. It is quite pricey but I have had better Asian fusion. The service was good and people are friendly. It's a fun environment and when it is busy, it's a very hip and happening lounge in downtown gas lamp. I would recommend the shaking Kobe beef.

Average place
This place was ok. I went down to Pearl with my wife on a friday night. I had made reservations and our table was waiting when we arrived(good). We got taken to our seat and had to wait about 5 mins before the waitress came back with menu's. Took another 10 mins to get the waitress to come back (had to flag her down) to order. I ordered the shaking Kobe beef, Papaya was great and the beef was tender but had a very bland taste. My wife ordered the Caramel shrimp which was actually pretty good. Overall I'd eat there again if someone else was paying but I'd not go back and pay for it myself.

A must for when you are in San Diego
Ignore the over bad reviews. I have lived in San Diego for close to 5 years and Red Pearl Kitchen is a place I always take visitors (there and La Bocca).
I will add this caveat: it is probably a better place for the 35 and younger crowd. It is loud (music and general ambiance) and packed on the weekends. It is also not a great place for a romantic date due to this.
But if you are with a group of friends and wants to have a fun timeGO HERE and get reservations!
Food is family style and served on large plates to share. Stay away from the HOT POT menu items though. These are VERY hit or miss. Everything else though, get after it!
Their edamame and calamari are the best I have ever had--you WILL become addicted. The garlic cashew chicken is also phenomenal.

Great Drinks, Good service, Delicious Food
Heard about this place on the radio from Erin @City Search. Hubby and I walked in on a Friday night without reservations. Were told the wait would be about 20 minutes - no problem we'll have a drink. No sooner did we browse the drink menu and order our drinks did the hostess approach us to let us know our table was ready. Quick! Got seated, had our drinks delivered to our table - SO GOOD - can't remember the name but it had soju, pineapple and some other stuff - delicious. It did take a few minutes for our waitress to take our order, but as soon as we took notice there she was. Our appetizer came out quickly and dinner followed just as we finished the last piece of shrimp. The food was excellent - kobe beef (melted in your mouth), mango fried rice (yummy), but I was particularly pleased with the curry cauliflower. It was surprisingly tastey. This place is great - is pretty loud, but the music is cool - we've already recommended it to our friends. We'll definitely be back.

Fun Saturday Night!
This place does not have great food. But let's be honest, you aren't really here for the food! Come here for the great atmosphere with a group of friends. The drinks are good and the service was above average! Overall not too bad at all!
