The Best Mexican Restaurant
My wife and I went into Tio Carlos for a late lunch on Friday 7-10. We were met by the most friendliest waitresses i have ever encountered. I ordered the speciality of the house Tio Carlos Shrimp. Our waitress said "get ready to be in mexican heaven" and she wasnt kidding. This dinner was the best i have ever eaten. I have visited many mexiacan restaurants and Tio Carlos off Rosecrans is simply the best.

Good Food by Pamela H. at InsiderPages
They have good food at Tio's Calos. The plates will fill you up. The parking is a little difficult as well as getting to the restaurant but the food is worth the hassle.
Try it and you will like it

Tio Carlos beats Tio Leo's anyday! by Melissa C. at InsiderPages
I don't order carnitas from anywhere except here because it does not compare. Everything they serve is delicious so you can't go wrong! You will never go back to El Torito or On the Border again (unless it's for Happy Hour!)

Mexican by Alisa H. at InsiderPages
This place has the best Mexican food in San Diego. El Torito and On the Border or any of the mexican food places in Old Town cant compete. Repeat customer. Keep going back for the food. Only flaw is bad waitresses. They hire young, immature college girls. Very lousy service! But if you get the owners wife, or Louise, they are wonderful!!

very filling by Debbie C. at InsiderPages
We went to Tio Carlos' Mexican Restaurant with a bunch of friends and sampled everyone's plates. All I can say is yum! Everything without exception was very, very good.

Good local
The location is central for military personnel, strippers on a dinner break, car sales men and local residents across the street. The food is not horrible but not the ultimate. The seating is dark and the "patio" is nothing to brag about. The bar service is comfortable and the locals seems to fill it up. Good "go to" place in a pinch.

Great Food & Service
Tio Carlos is a great little place in Point Loma. The Exterior is not the most inviting but the food definitely makes up for this. The service is always fantastic and the owners are always around to make you feel like you are their number one customer. The food comes out fast and the portions are plentiful.

Salute to Carlos
I have been going there for 15 years and they have the best Carnitas around. The margaritas aren't to bad either.
