The Lasik Vision Institute

I do not appreciate this company! They are extremely unethical and unfair. I called them to ask if they could operate on my eyes. I have been told by other institutes that they couldnt because I had Lupus and that only the newest machines could. So the very first question I asked was can you operate on me with Lupus. The operator, to me of course they could and it was no problem and would I like to schedule a complimentary appointment. I agreed. A week later I drove two hours, one day, down to San Diego for my appointment at 2:00 p.m. After filing out a ton of paperwork, which I listed my condition, having a consultation with a nurse and discussing my condition and going thru a battery of eye exams, I finally see a doctor at 4:30 p.m. He talks to me for a while and then says he cannot operate on me because I had Lupus. Are you kidding me? He actually told me that it was a law in the state of California and no eye doctor could operate on any person whom has had Lupus. As I was leaving the office with my husband the nurse stopped me and told me I had to wait for a few minutes because my eyes had been dilated. I gave my husband a look and he said we would not be waiting any longer. When the nurse insisted I said that they had wasted enough of my time and I was leaving. He was trying to calm us down. So I asked him, ??????Why did you put me through all of this when you knew you couldnt operate on me? He responded with, Well, we still like to see the patients. I responded with, Well, I wouldnt want to inconvenience you. So after an entire days journey to go to the eye doctor I found out that this one institute could not operate on me, which was the very first thing I asked the scheduler so that this very situation would not happen. And what was their excuse? The scheduler does not know medical conditions. Well, that might be true but if her job is to schedule eye appointments

Dr. Kownacki surpassed my expectations! I had the custom wavefront lasik done and the very next morning I was fine and had 20/20 vision in both eyes at my post-op. The staff was incredibly friendly and answered every question I had, and the financing was reasonable in price. I would recommend The Lasik Vision Institute to everyoneit was a shame I didn't do it sooner! Professional and kind 100 percent .my husband is going next!!!

I had lasik done here and am not thrilled with the
results.Spent about a $1000.I have better vision
but I was looking for results COMPARABLE TO MY
GLASSES.To me, if I have to continue to wear the
glasses then the lasik is'nt worth it.I mostly
wear the glasses for driving.If your looking at lasik
beware.

I waited too long to get this done, 20/400. Surgery on Friday. Vision a little blurry after surgery. Rest you eyes. Saturday, 20/20 left, 20/25 right with fuzziness. Follow post op instructions and as healing continues, vision sharpens. Surgery fast and painless. Thorough eye exams pre and post op. Very professional. Cost $1500 per eye, worth every penny. New sense of freedom.
The only downer, scheduling surgery, they only do it about 4 times a month.

Pre-Op was thorough and knowledge shared with individual. Lasik surgery was painless and effective. Sent home with good supplies and instructions. Followup next day with test of eye improvement. Price is right.
