R & J Computer Repair

I had a very bad experience with R & J computers on El Cajon Blvd. in La Mesa, CA. I took in my laptop along with information about the probable cause of the problem, which I had researched on trouble-shooting websites. I even provided the part number. I took the computer to them early on a Monday morning and continued making calls throughout the week about their diagnostics. Almost two weeks later, they told me that the motherboard was bad and that it would cost around $700 to repair the computer. Since I could get a new computer for less than that, I opted to pick up my laptop and think about the situation. When I went to get the computer, they told me that I could leave it there and they'd be happy to recycle it for me. I'm glad I didn't do that!! I ended up taking the computer to another repair shop and within a few days, I got my computer back in great working condition. They diagnosed it with the SAME EXACT problem I suspected, and put in the part (less than $100) I had written down for R & J Computers.

Richard is the R in R&J. He was great. Very affordable. They changed the lcd of my laptop. I am very pleased.

They promised a one-day diagnostic then took four days. Each day they promised to call me with results and never called, I had to call them. They misdiagnosed the problem so my laptop was still broken on return. WORST OF ALL, they removed the memory from my computer and returned my computer with only one-quarter of the memory. It took two weeks of calling to get them to return my original memory.

Our computer crashed at my office - we needed certain things to finish the day. The owner of the company came as soon as he could - told us what the problem was, fixed what he could, explained everything. He was wonderful
I highly recommend this company!

Free diagnostics and friendly service; at fair prices! Forget the big service providers and you'll be very happy.

The owner came on a Saturday, on short notice, to hook up my internet service. He did not make me feel stupid for not knowing how to do it, and even installed an anti-virus program for me. The fee was only $35, and Geek charges triple digit.
